I have been a dedicated woodworker since the mid 1980's and own and operate a one-man shop in rural Chepachet, Rhode Island. I am committed to making the finest handmade Windsor chairs possible - one at a time. I personally pick out each red oak log to ensure that its grain runs straight for beauty and durability.
All
arms, bows and crests are shaped by hand and steam bent. All of my chair parts
are shaped by hand tools which results in a surface and texture unmatched by
any machine method. All joints are split and wedged resulting in a chair that
will last a lifetime.
You will notice that I offer a variety of Windsor Chair styles from different regions such as Philadelphia, New York and New England. I also offer a number of custom finishes. Each finish is meticulously rubbed out to achieve the desired patina that an original Windsor would have.
Finally, every chair that leaves my shop is backed by a limited lifetime guarantee. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have concerning the construction of my Windsor chairs. Please e-mail me at keith@keithturbitt.com. I look forward to hearing from you.
